Rooster Coop
I needed a way to seperate Brad and Chad. Poor Brad got kicked out of the main coop and needed to sleep in a tree. What I did to fix this was build Brad his own coop. It was a relatively easy task but the heavy rain made it take a lot longer.
Old pallets were recycled into a strong square framework, and I screwed up strong plywood for the walls. The roof in particular came out quite nice.

I needed a way to close the coop off from the main run. I went with this for now. Not the biggest fan of this design, since it makes it extremely difficult to close after pellets get wedged underneath.
Brad started sleeping in here quickly. I placed him in maybe the first night, but he knew what to do after that. I felt bad that he was needing to sleep alone, so I went to the main coop and moved over the chicken that was being picked on the most. That ended up being Suzie.

This setup allows me to leave the rooster coop open, and give Suzie and Brad a way to come and go. They know that they sleep here now, and they slowly cross the bridge to the rooster coop gate. The other chickens explore it during the day now, and sometimes make nests in the corner.

Other critters know that they can get some good eating when the chickens are away. I've caught a squirrel in there once. Thankfully it hasn't become a problem yet.
