Tualatin

Basalt Creek is a place where nature and neighborhood meet. Tucked into the hills of southwest Tualatin, this area gets its name from the ancient basalt rock that lines the ravine—a quiet reminder of the region’s volcanic past. It’s a hidden gem with a rich natural story, from rugged rock formations to the seasonal creek that still winds through the landscape.

At the same time, it’s also the site of one of Tualatin’s newest and fastest-growing communities. The Basalt Creek Neighborhood is taking shape with new homes, parks, and plans that aim to preserve the natural beauty while making space for people to live, work, and connect. This page shares both sides of that story—what’s beneath the ground, and what’s just beginning to rise above it.
